Instructions for Authors:

The Nordic Journal of Human Rights is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing high-quality, original research. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. Manuscripts for consideration should be sent to the Managing Editor at hr-journal@nchr.uio.no.

Authors must submit manuscripts electronically. Electronic submissions should be sent as email attachments using a standard word-processing program. If email submission is not possible, please send an electronic version on CD.

The following word-lengths apply to the submissions:

Articles section 10,000 words long (including footnotes); Current Legal Developments section 5,000 words, Book Essay section 2,000 words and for Book Reviews 1,500 words.

The submission of material for consideration by the editors as a main article, current legal development, critical commentary/book essay, and book review with a view to publication is welcomed. The editors welcome ideas for special issues, symposia, and reviews from scholars and practitioners of human rights.

Firmly established as one of Scandinavia’s leading journals in the fi eld, the Nordic Journal of Human Rights (NJHR) provides a forum for academic critique and analysis pertaining to human rights. The Journal refl ects current developments and seeks to promote the development of new perspectives on the theory and practice of human rights.

NJHR features articles, commentaries, and reviews of recent literature on human rights. It is a multi- disciplinary journal, presenting cross-cutting legal and other scholarly debates. The Journal is essential reading for academics, policy makers and practitioners who work in the fi eld of human rights.
