Characteristics of cohorts in the Diet, Genes and Environment Unit at the Danish Cancer Society’s Research Center

Cohort name (acronym) Diet, Cancer and Health – Next generations (DCH-NG), Kost, kræft og helbred – Næste generationer (KKH-NG) Main focus areas In 2015-2019, we expanded the DCH cohort by including

children, their spouses, and grandchildren of the original cohort to form a 3-generation family study (‘DCH-Next Generations’ cohort). In doing so, a new unique resource was created that enables trans-generational studies of the pathogenesis of multiple cancers but also other non- communicable diseases in the future.

Source of identification of study population

All grown-up (18+) children, their spouses and

grandchildren of the participants in DCH were identified in the CPR-registry and invited to participate in the DCH-NG study.
