hjernetumor diagnosticeret i barndommen.
”Late effects after treatment for childhood brain tumor”. Yderligere oplysninger kontakt: Læge, Ph.d.- studerende Anne Sophie Lind Helligsø, e-mail: aslindfischer@clin.au.dk, tlf. 60918867.

Late effects after treatment for childhood brain tumor
In this PhD project, late effects after treatment for a brain tumor in childhood were investigated. The project was carried out by Anne Sophie Lind Helligsø, who is defending her dissertation on 3/6 2022.
Every year around 40–50 children are diagnosed with a brain tumor in childhood. Treatment consists of a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. During the past decades, great progress in the treatment of a childhood braintumor has contributed to an improved survival reaching 75%.
Despite an improved survival, these children face late effects years later. Especially radiation is known
to cause late effects such as neurocognitive impairment e.g., learning difficulties and memory problems – all late effects which might affect quality of life.
The defence is public and takes place on 3/6 2022 at 2:15 pm in J116-113, Aarhus University Hospital, Palle Juul-Jensens Boulevard 99, 8200 Aarhus N. The title of the project is "Late effects after
treatment for childhood brain tumor". For more information, please contact MD, PhD student Anne Sophie Lind Helligsø, email: aslindfischer@clin.au.dk, Phone +4560918867.
