China: Creating Quality Wind at Chinese wind farms
Late July, The Royal Danish Embassy in Beijing and the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) submitted proposals to Datang Renewables and State Development &
Investment Corporation (SDIC) concerning improvement of three existing wind farms in China on behalf of a series of Danish companies including:
Vestas, Mita-Teknik, C.C.Jensen, Hove, Danfoss, Dafa and Lund & Sorensen.
Datang Renewables and SDIC have expressed interest in addressing the issues identified during the site inspections and in entering into bilateral, commercial negotiations with the Danish companies.
To further support the dialogue, a roundtable will be held on 16 October with participation of the National Energy Administration (NEA) to discuss the
current state of China’s wind assets and potential for improved performance of wind turbines by improving operation and maintenance of the wind farms utilizing Danish technology and know-how. Following the roundtable, a seminar will involve a broader audience with interest in improving the
performance of the Chinese wind assets, learning from Danish experiences on offshore wind farms and finally learn about investment opportunities in wind energy in Denmark. At the seminar DEA will also present a new publication on operation and maintenance of wind turbines.
