Project background oject bac g ou d

In 2004, Beijing government implement a new rural construction projects. The demonstration use the solar construction projects. The demonstration use the solar space heating technology combined with the biomass to solve the energy demand of space heating and domestic solve the energy demand of space heating and domestic hot water.

By Apr.2008, 975 solar combisystem were built in By Apr.2008, 975 solar combisystem were built in

Beijing, the installed collector area was around 22427.5 m 2 , solar space heating area was around 170 thousand m , solar space heating area was around 170 thousand m 2 . By now, around 300 thousand m 2 buildings use heat from solar energy.

The barriers & problems p

Solar space heating is more expensive than the conventional alternative

Little hot-water demand reduce investment income

Wrong orientation and tilt, the roof tilt often is about 30 Wrong orientation and tilt, the roof tilt often is about 30 °

Serious overheating for the evacuated tubular collectors

Overheating degrades the collector and components, high temperatures and stretching can cause leaks in joints

Too large flow and/or wrong connector location destroy tank stratification

Bad design of drainback loop lead to frost crack failure

The capital investment of the components corresponds to the sum of the purchase cost of the pump, storage tank and the solar collector costs.. The estimated cost regard- ing

For the SDHW system the hot water consumption, the heat loss of the circulation pipe, the solar energy transferred from the solar collector fluid to the external heat exchanger and

1) BSERI is responsible for the R&D of the flat-plate solar collector with covers, design, installation and monitoring of the solar demonstration system,

• In a tank with stratifiers both in the solar collector loop and the space heating loop, the optimal stop temperature difference increases with about 0.5 K while the best

Furthermore, the European standards on heat exchangers separating solar collector fluids from domestic water do not include rules concerning the heat exchanger design, see for

The models for flat plate collector fields and CSP collector fields in the Excel tool have been used to calculate the annual performance for different collector mean

Figure 24 through Figure 26 show the yearly thermal performance of the collector without the ETFE foil as a function of the mean solar collector fluid temperature for the old
