The single market has been a key source of growth for the European economy in recent decades. To exploit this potential, the remaining trade barriers existing in the EU must be removed and businesses and consumers must know and exercise their rights in the single market. The creation of a safe and secure framework for cross-border trade is an important prerequisite for the continued development of the internal market.

Ultimately, trust that goods and services meet safety, health and environmental standards is a fundamental condition for consumers to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the single market. The purpose of the action plan is to further develop the internal market to make it a key source of growth for the European economy in the future as well. The action plan must create a more open and at the same time a safer internal market in the EU.

Although the EU has thus made good progress in its efforts to create a single market for goods and services, the work is not done.

Moreover, a sufficient number of services are exempted from the Services Directive, in whole or in part. There is still work to be done to exploit the opportunities for businesses and consumers inherent in the internal market for services. Future efforts in the field of services will not necessarily have to manifest in a new horizontal Services Directive.

The government will instead focus on targeted efforts based on the services directive. The means to promote trade in services within the European Union could either be in the form of further harmonization by sector, the use of voluntary standards for selected services or improved enforcement of and information on existing rules.

Denmark has led many of the EU projects to implement EU policies for the near future, jf. The government will endeavor to ensure that the principles of the decision form the basis in all relevant cases relating to the presentation or revision of EU rules in the future. This is already the case in connection with the revision of the rules on toys, machinery and building materials that have been negotiated at EU level in recent years.

In addition, the committee will be informed about the number of new national regulations from Denmark and the other member states. The government also considers that the EU's scoreboard could very well contain information on the principle of mutual recognition and information on market surveillance. 17.

It is therefore necessary that all Member States take shared responsibility for ensuring that the internal market functions in practice, so that citizens and businesses can benefit from the benefits of the internal market. The benefits of the internal market can only be fully realized through coordinated European and national efforts. The development of the internal market has brought major benefits to both businesses and consumers in the form of improved export opportunities, increased competition, more products on the market and lower prices.

Another purpose of the Center for the Internal Market is the further development of the internal market. However, research shows that many consumers and traders misunderstand the meaning of the CE marking. The purpose of the Internal Market Center is to strengthen the overall and common coordination of internal market policy.

Providing guidance and advice to the Danish authorities regarding the implementation of fundamental principles in the internal market for goods and services. Analyzes show that obstacles to the internal market are also to a large extent due to the misapplication of rules by national authorities. Together with the Commission, the Government will work for a more correct implementation of the principle of mutual recognition in Denmark.

The realization of the single market is often highlighted as one of the EU's greatest achievements. An information initiative will be launched to improve awareness of the principle of mutual recognition in the internal market.

A market surveillance committee will be established under the Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs with the aim of improving the overall coordination of market surveillance efforts in Denmark. This will prevent the risk of dangerous products falling between two authorities due to the decentralized organization of market surveillance efforts. The committee will submit a report to the Folketing each year on the market surveillance efforts.

Surveys of current market surveillance practices in goods show that the planning and prioritization of authorities' efforts varies widely. The committee will submit an annual report to the Folketing on Danish market surveillance efforts. To achieve a uniform quality of market surveillance across the different areas, the government will set a national overall target for market surveillance efforts in Denmark.

The decentralized organization of market surveillance efforts means that the potential benefits of joint initiatives between authorities are not fully exploited. The government will also work to promote joint initiatives between market surveillance authorities and SKAT to stop a greater share of illegal products before they reach the Danish market. For this reason, a common European framework for future market surveillance efforts has recently been adopted.

Denmark will actively participate in promoting European initiatives to improve market surveillance efforts through the exchange of best practices. The cooperation includes the exchange of risk assessments, test methods and test results and is actively used in the planning of the Danish market surveillance efforts. The Market Surveillance Committee is responsible for ensuring that Danish market surveillance efforts are at the same level as those of the other EU Member States.

Sharing experiences and best practices from EU projects with all Danish market surveillance authorities. Improved coordination of Danish participation in common European information campaigns and inspection schemes The initiative will be administered by the Government's market surveillance committee.
